There are a number of Volvo buses and non-AC buses available from Delhi to different locations in Himachal that runs at an average gap of 30 minutes from Kashmere Gate.
There are three main airports of Himachal Pradesh- Gaggal airport in Kangra, Jubbarhatti airport in Shimla and Bhuntar airport in Kullu. Flights run from Delhi to these locations. The airports are seasonal and operation is subject to weather conditions. It is advisable to travel by road.
Summers: The summer season in Himachal begins in the month of May and continues until August. The temperature in summers varies from 22-37 degrees Celsius.
Monsoons: The monsoon seasons begins in the month of July with moderate rains and continues until September. The average rainfall received during this period is 3800 mm and temperature varies from 18-30 degrees Celsius. This is considered off-season to travel to Himachal due to heavy rainfalls and risk of landslides, however, the rates fall during this time.
Winters: The winters are the best time to visit Himachal to see it covered in snow. The temperature varies from 0-15 degrees Celsius and in some areas can go below zero as well. The winter season begins in the month of October and continues till March.

Rohtang Pass is open from the month of June to September or October depending on the snowfall. You need to get a vehicle permit at least one day prior to visit Manali- Rohtang pass. The permit is available online you can also collect it from Manali office.
